I bought a 67 cj5 about a month ago and am having a heck of a time buying the simplest parts for it. The guy at our local parts store seems like he is half guessing so I passed on his recomendations.

I need to purchase an oil filter (spin on type) and spark plugs. Of course the catologs at walmart go back to 1990. Oh I have the 134 4cyl.

    Any help? Thanks

Sounds to me like you need to find a different parts person. Any decent parts store should at least list parts for your F Head, and order parts for it.
For mailorder, check the "where to find parts" thread at the top of this section. I prefer Krage, or Walcks.

No arguments there Patrick. When he fumbles around and finally jots down parts number and says "I bet these will work" it doesn inspire much confidence.

I'm just wondering if anyone has a 67 out there that could tell me what they use for plugs and oil filter so I can get the right stuff.

For plugs, use Champion J8C. I'm a Dauntless guy, but I found that with the search function here. I'd bet you can find the other info you need as well.;)

if you are going to keep your jeep for a while you might go to some local swap meets and pickup some used manuals.the old service station manuals have all the info your looking for and more.i have a 1969 texaco lube manual with libe /tuneup/part numbers, etc. most of those numbers can be cross referenced.just a thought.ihave MOTOR'S manual from 1935 to late seventy's.a ton of good info in those books.

Or, buy a reprint of the original Factory Service Manual.

Thanks everyone! I'm trying to do a little maintainance before the weekend. I live in Northern Michigan and the jeep blessing is this weekend. I live about 30 miles away so I am looking forward to the drive, hopefully with the top off.
