Axle questions

    On my 68 commando, the rear axle is in need of repair. It is the old dana 30. I think it has some teeth broke off of the ring gear. If I can find a cj5, will the axles be a direct bolt in or are there differences.

    What would be the easiest way to fix the problem? I think it would be a simple swap.

    After my jeep sitting for a year, I am ready to get it on the road for summer.

    The spring perches would have to be moved on a CJ axle for it to work on a Commando. Commando springs are mounted outboard of the frame, CJ are under the frame.
