I got my engine back from the shop Friday and I think they didn't put either the bold or the mechanism that secures the distributor to the engine back in my box of goodies. I never really looked at it close before it left. Can someone tell me how my distributor is secured.

Oh yea, and here is a pic of the motor when I got it back. I told those dummies at the shop not to paint it, but I guess they slept since then. Oh well, I just used it as a primer. They used that Alpine Green

There's a horsehoe-shaped clamp and a short bolt that holds the distributor into the block, they should be available at a speed shop / FLAPS if the machine shop can't find it.

BTW- Cute pup. Is she a Beagle?

There's actually two different types of holddowns - one looks like a stamped rocker arm style and the other is the chevy style horseshoe clamp mentioned.

We can probably tell you which type you need, but we need a better view of the distributor hole in the timing cover.

I'll get a pic and send it back to you guys.

My dog is a Harrier. It's like a Beagle but an older breed.
