on board air?

What did you use for brackets? I am bulding my own and curious what other people have used. What thickness material did you use and how did you mount it?
Mine is going on 42'MB with a 231 Buick and it has to mount on the right side.
The one I designed mounts to the right cylinder head; the York mounts vertical on the outside and the alternator on top.

 

Although I haven't built one yet, the latest issue of JP has a good article on it. Great pics showing the compressor and misc fittings, gauges, manifold, etc...

 

I ended up using the brackets that came with the compressor from the boneyard. I think it was off a Nissan. I had to cut a slot in the plate of the bracket to be able to check the PS fluid.

 

Thanks Chris, That's what got me restarted. I started once then got stalled.

jzber, what side is yours on? My PS pump is high up on the left. The engine is out of a 78 sunbird.

 

I have started on mine twice and lost drive , too much in the way was shooting for pass side next to alt. or between alt and upper rad hose.got a pic of yours to get me into mine again???thanks

 

I will try for tomorrow or tuesday. I dont have any pics yet. It is about half tacked together. I need to make a gusset and a better alt pivot but the belt alignment looks good with the tempoary ones tacked in place.

 

Not sure what my engine is out of. The A/C is exactly where your PS pump is. PS pump is down below it.

Front, rear and left side the funny looking triangle inthe upper right side of the rear(2nd pic) is a 1/4" recess for caearance. back,bottom and plate that mounts york are 1/4" top is 3/16" i still have about half a days work left. i bent some "eyebrows" for gussets on the alt. tabs. ( not installed yet.)
