Hi everyone. The lenses of the heater control panel in my jeep have gotten faded pretty substantially. I am assuming that everything is supposed to be black, except the green illuminated lettering? Since the part of the lens surrounding the letters have gotten faded, the whole lens lights up instead of just the letters. Is there anything that I can do to fix this?

I haven't been able to find a solution yet, either. I know you can change the replacement light up knob labels (which are only available with blue backlights) to the correct green with a little disassembly work. The only one you can't get as a replacement, blue light or not, is the one for the Hazard switch. I've seen where a guy made one by somehow using his computer to print the correct label on a piece of green acetate.

I personally would have no idea how to do it, and to be honest, it is kinda far down on my list of priorities... rock solid reliability comes before all else.

They are out there still in good shape, it might just be easier to bite the bullet and pay the price to get one from a jeep only junkyard...

The usual complaint about these is that they are broken, not that the lenses aren't green. You might be able to find a broken donor with good lenses.
