Ive been reading a bit about flatfenders. Im hearing alot about shackel reversal. Is that when you put the fixed location on the front and the movable on the back. May sound stupid but im not really sure. If i were to do this. Would it help in steering geometry with a spring over?

Yes it flips the placemment of the shackle to the rear.
It will ride better on pavement and even offer some off road. You will have to make the drive shaft longer, as the slip yoke will be to short more than likely.
It does change the caster a tad too if I recall right.

It used to be quite popular but I think most people are kinda middle of the road about. Some have done it and love it. Some have done it and gone back.

I'm going to do it on my build but only because I, unfortunatly, spend most of my time on the asphault.

Besides, doing this adds another level of needless complexity in the design and execution.

This comes up a lot. My standard response is that it is highly over-rated.

My impression is that the shackle reversal is trendy. Not much bang for the buck for most owners, if any.

my brothers 3a with original springs, shocks and seats and actually hurts when you hit bums, it really does bang over them. My 3b with superlift 1" springs and rs9000 shocks and redone (original seats) rides like a dream! can hit a pot hole or bump and it swallows up the bump and keeps going. I think quality springs and good shocks make the most diff. I think a shackle reversal is a lot of work for what you gain and I also don't like that the jeep tends to nose dive more with it.
