Finally got some pics up. Had to build a tire carrier/bumper for my cj. Paid less then $100 bucks in steel and misc. I needed something to hold my new spare That cost almost as much as the used wheel and tire combo. I had to buy a new wheel to match the old ones and paint it black. It was a shame to have to scuff that brand new wheel for paint. oh well.

Also the new bds springs have finally broken in. I think I even gained some lift after they loosened up a bit. The shackle is more up and down then before.

Looks good, nice and clean. Next step, Front Bumper!

I like the D-rings. That's the way I went on the front bumper.

Next step is front brakes then bumper and winch. Maybe wheel spacers. Is it okay to weld the d-rings right to the bumper? I have tow hooks on the frame so I would probably use those if it was stuck bad. I also want to tie the rear bumper into the frame better. Some type of L bracket between both. Probably something I will have to make.

Mine are welded on to the bumper, and the bumper is bolted to the frame with 3/4" grade 8. (I have a weird thing with welded on bumpers)

Here is a pic of my front.

Nice. Thats what I need. Did you just weld the rings to the outside or both sides of the tube? Do you have wheel spacers? My rears are hitting the inner tub when stuffed. I was talking about L brakets on the rear to hold the weight better.

I welded the rings on the outside dead center over where the mount that goes to the frame is welded to the back. Three passes super hot on the Miller 175. I have yanked the crap out of them and they don't budge.

No wheel spacers, my tires are 33x14.5 and they rub on the inner fender too. I am not real worried about it, they are rubber and give a little. You can always lower the bump stops to keep that from happening.

I can go snap a couple of pictures of my rear if you want to see the underside. Here is one from above.

That would be great. Do you like the body lift? I have thought about one.

I don't really like the body lift, it came with a 3 inch and 33's. I put 4 inch springs on then was going to drop the body lift down to 1 inch but I ran into clearance issues with the T-18. So instead of lowering the drive train or hacking up the floor too much (which I ended up doing later) I cut the 3 inch blocks down to 2 inches. It works all right, but if I had my choice I would go down to 1 inch.

    Here are the underside pics.

The bumper with the tire carrier looks great, both of them... I want one too :( I like that it doesn even have to be "swing away" type because like mine, doesnt have a tailgate... great job... wish I could weld up like that
