Well today my cj6 finally made its way into the shop. I pressure washed the frame today and brought it in to dry out before I finish pulling the column, steering stuff, springs and axles. I dopped the rear diff cover and found I have a power lock in the stock 44. I also have 41 11 stamped into the ring gear. I assume I have 3.73 gear ratio then? What is the lowest gear ratio I can install with my carrier and power lock? Also are there one piece axle shafts available to work as well. Thanks everyone I'll get a picture or two up in the next day or so.

By my math you have a 3.00 gear ratio. But anyway the carrier break is at 3.73's for the dana 44. So the power-loc you have is good for 3.73's and higher. To go lower you need a differant power-loc.

    No, 41/11 = 3.73.

IIRC you can get thick gears and use your PowerLock with other ratios. Randy's Ring&Pinion should have info about that www.ringpinion.com
