i'm going to use por15 chassis coat black to go the frame. it says on there web site that most people brush it on. i would like to do that because of the fumes(my wife is very sencitive to cem./paint fumes) so every time i spray some thing i have to just about build a tent in the garage.and it still bugs her.any how my question is .has someone used a brush ,and did it look bad when it dryed? thanks

I brushed it on, it didn't look terrible but didn't look great, just, meh... I'd do it with a foam brush to see if it looked better. Wear gloves and long sleeves, it sticks to you for like 2 weeks. Remember to knock the lose stuff down, and to de grease it, I forgot to de grease it and it peeled up that one spot. also, consider a top coat since UV will break POR down

When I did the frame on the 65, we wire wheeled and brushed on por15, covered with black rustoleum.

Did the same to the 78 in 99 when it was rebuilt and still looks great

I have used it on 2 projects. It works fairly well. On the latest CJ7 I used the Eastwood black frame paint It still has to be prepped old loose rust and grease removed before painting But it went on better and looked better. It is not UV damaged like POR 15. Although I used the Eastwood Blacktop coat over it. It came together in a kit. I will still use the POR 15 but I also liked the Eastwood. Both had strong fumes and should be done with good ventilation.

POR15 itself goes on very well, smoothes out nicely. My experience with the chassis black isn't so good, it goes on thick & the brush marks stay.

I'm not sure that the benefits of the chassis black, namely it's ability to stick well to a POR15 undercoat, are really worth it if you don't use the POR15 itself.

Used it on the frame of an 85 Monte Carlo. Sandblasted it and sprayed it on with a conventional gun. Great stuff, it's still stuck to my shop floor. You will need to topcoat it as it is not UV resistant. I also sprayed control arms, spindle etc.
