The PO of my '66 CJ5 cut off the rear corner soft top mounts to make room for a safari-type rack. In my quest to restore the jeep to an original condition I am needing to put these back on. Does anyone have any pics and dimensional info on the actual bracket and location on the corner?
    Thanks,
    :v6:

    Ah - Joes look better.

Mine were welded on. I cut them off as carefully as I could but they're rougher.

The people on this site never seem to amaze me. Thanks for all of the responses. Mine look like they were welded on and the PO cut them off with grinder. Would a '66 have been welded on or bolted on?

I had to remove mine to put the steel diamond plate corners on. I thought about trying to re-weld them back on but with the diamond plate it just looked like something to rust out.

I have those on my jeep and I never knew what they were. Good to know it was for a soft top. But I have never seen a soft top use them, they have those channels now that wrap around the corners. Anyone have a picture or video showing how they were used?

They were the old school factory soft tops.
The snaps were used on the old Kayline tops and the Bestop Tiger Top. The channels are used on the Supertop.

That's what those are! I was thinking they'll make great flag post holders for the Memorial Day weekend :flag:

They were used to hold the bows for canvas tops also.
