anybody here ever 'fabricate' higher body mounts ?
what I'm thinking about is some plate steel cut and welded to the frame, raising the body lift, while still
    maintaining the 1" pucks.
why I'm doing this ,,,,is cause I'm unhappy with the 3" pucks AND with 40" pro-comps , I need to trim the
fenders and still lift the body.I would think some welded steel would be better than 3" urethane?

I certainly think that could be done, How about a piece of 2"x2" square tubing with the stock cushion mounts or I made mounts for my CJ2-A out of 5/4 composite deck material with a pad cut from a truck mud flap, it is extremely dense, impervious to rust and I don't believe it will deteriorate with the elements. I cut it with a 1 3/4 hole saw and drilled a 1/2 " hole in the center. The composite deck material is made with sawdust and recycled plastic bags and cuts with common wood working tools.

I have used 2 x 2 Square tubing to raise a body off the frame. I personally don't like the big 3" pucks. So I used the tubing welded to the frame and then a standard 1" poly puck. No Problems with the tubing at all.

I can barley get in my 5 riding on 35's...I can't imagine 40's! I would think the steel tubing would be better than 3" pucks. I like LarryD's idea of using the deck material! Any photos Larry?
