    Hello Folks
I did a search but came up with nothing on this.
I have a total restored 1955 CJ 5 that I would like to put a soft top on.
What is a good top for my jeep?
I would also need doors, but I am not sure how those would go on were there is not door hindges.
    Thanks for all your help

Original doors set into the door opening on the bottom and into a bracket mounted on the w/s frame on top. Bestop Supertop is most popular, although pricey when new. New top kit will come w/doors. Will not be period correct, maybe check with Beechwood Canvas for original style?

Agree. I'm very happy with my Supertop. Got it 'new', but 7 years old, off eBay at major discount. The Supertop uses a rail mounting system on the rim of the tub. The Tigertop is less expensive and uses snaps to attach (I think). The door hinges are small 16ga. pieces that screw into 'door jam' ... nice thing is they adjust very easily with rubber hammer.

Hmmm. Sounds like you may want to stay as close to period correct as possible. Kayline/STC or Whitco (even rarer) tops come up ever so often on eBay/craigslist. Just have to keep checking. IMHO they look better.

I just put a Bestop Supertop on my 69 CJ5 looks good easy to mount. Doors mounted very easy. The door hinges mount by drilling 4 holes 2 at 5" and 2 at 15". Fit very good a little hard to strech when its cold I had to heat up the shop to about 80 to get all the zippers shut. There giving $100 off right now allso that a plus.
