tailgates???

    i hope i posted this in the proper place . if not please move.
    what years were produced without a tailgate and or was the no tailgate an option and from when to when?

    IIRC Until the 70s, all had tailgates, except the M38A1. The option was to not have a tailgate. it was available in every year. i think 76 was the 1st year for tailgates to become the option. But you could get all years with or without a tailgate.
