302 engine swap advise

ive got a complete donor f150, 302 fi engine, 435 trans 208 t/c locked 9", and a 44 front. my plan is to swap everything onto the cj5 frame. ive read the right up on novak about the 302 swap and im not worried abouthe engine mounting up. my issue is the lenght of the whole drivetrain. a rough measurement was 6 foot from crank pulley to t/c tail shaft. upon first glance looks like i need to extend the rear of the 5 frame to move the 9" back so i dont have such a crazy pinion angle. has anyone had any experience with a swap like this? any help or advise would be great.

 

Havent tried a swap like this,,,kinda long. Blue Torch Fab, MORE, Rubicon Express and others have "kits" and parts for these swaps. Engine and suspension swap should be pretty straight forward, but the extended drivetrain of the Ford auto trans and TC adaptor is gonna give you problems. Face it ,,if you love CJ-5's,,, ya gotta make sacrifices unless you are willing to make serious and severe modifications to the chassis,suspension & drivetrain. However I love the fuelie Ford V-8 in mine. I;d look into usinf the engine and T-case and finding a good (& short) manual trans for the swap.
