Recently installed DUI distributor. Very good product with a noticeable increase in throttle response. When I installed the new distributor I cleaned all of the old gasket material off, used the new gasket, and bent the hold down clamp so that it makes good contact with the machined lip on the DUI dizzy. Nevertheless, I am leaking a significant amount of oil from around the distributor shaft. A 3-4 mile drive will result in a 1/4" pool of oil sitting in the depression on the front cover to the right of the dizzy hole. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Is your PCV system operating properly and plumbed correctly? An improperly operating PCV can make leaks appear in places you never thought of. You can chase leaks all day, fix one, it leaks somewhere else, unless the system is up to snuff. The internal engine pressure has to go somewhere, and until you get the PCV right, you can be chasing leaks from now until doomsday....

Hmmm, get a flashlight a take a really close look at where it's flange meets the gasket. Maybe something "funky" going on there. From what you describe doing...it should be bone dry. You are 100% sure it's coming from there right?

In response to last post, no. I cleaned the entire area with degreaser tonite and let it run for 1/2 hour and watched it close - nothing coming from around distributor. Went for a drive and came back and looked again, still dry. I'll just keep watching it close until I figure it out. I've never checked the PCV system, so it certainly wouldn't hurt to look at that as well. Thanks for the help.
