I done a search and read all the threads on Power steering swaps . Still could not find a clear answer .

    Will a power steering pump/bracket assmbly off a 78- up 258 6 cylinder work on the 75 - below 258 engines.

That is will it be a direct fit , no mods ?

    Thnx in advance.

To the best of my knowledge, it is not a direct fit.

It will not work unless you take everything off the front of the donor engine - pulleys, brackets, belts, water pump. You might also want to convert to a Delco alternator (you have Prestolite now?), since the '78 will have a Delco on the passenger side and the PS on the driver's side.

The reason you cannot get a clear answer is because there were at least 3 different setups used. Most (some?) of the intermediates had the PS pump on the passenger side, under the alt. IIRC my '75 had the pump on the DS, with the air pump on top. This may have been a CA-only thing. Several different configurations were possible. This is why I suggest you take everything if you can. You may still have to drill and tap a new hole in the head to use the '78 bracket.

    hth!
