I was at work the other day (I work in an open pit mine) and I got to noticing the tires on one of the support pickups. They are new tires, but I couldn't make out the markings on the sidewall and I don't really have the oppertunity to go track down the pickups ever...

The tread was very, very similar to the old Armstrong Tru-trac I grew up with. I know they've been out of business since I was in grade school but I'd love to find a company that was producing a similar tire. Does anyone have an idea of what these tires were? (i.e. brand, etc.) I can't find them anywhere online but I've seen them so I know someone is making them... :?

I think the Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. got bought out a number of years ago. I ran a set of 11-15 Tru Tracs on my 76 CJ-5. they were great sand tires especially when mounted on 10" wide rims. They had a tendency to slide around a lot in the mud because of the crowned tread.

I ran a set of Tru Tracs on my '54 Willys Utility Wagon. They were great tires. A little bumpy in the morning before they warmed up. BFG Mud Terrains are kinda similar in tread design.
