Heard some guys talking about a junkyard turbo for their ford inline 6.

Anyone ever heard of such a thing for my 4.2 in my Cj.

(i think i put this in the right thread)

Yes, I've heard of such a thing, but not lately. If you go turbo, you're probably better off with a 232; the shorter crank throws will make the crank stronger, and you need that with boost.

I think there's less interest in the turbo than there might be becasue there are so may easy and inexpensive ways to hop up a normally aspirated 258. Also, the turbo seems like a rather impractical route for a Jeep, since there are so many more powerful and easily available NA engines available to swap in. A turbo sounds like a cool thing on the face of it, but unless you want to take on the project simply for the technical challenge, I would advise against it.

There is a Slant 6 board that has some Turbo guys on it. They make gobs of power but the S6 is almost bulletproof.
I looked into it for my old Dodge Ram but sold it and bought my newer Ram instead.
    I say do it!!!
