Okay im over on a few other boards so so folks might have seen this already, but for those of you who have not here we go.

Started out with a 1970 Commando I bought mostly for the great body shape. knew there where some engine problems just no idea how bad:) After tons of work and various problems we now have the motor rebuilt and in the Jeep.

Still have a few things to do, Work out issues on clearance of the PS pump and the HEI, have to modify the PS bracket.

Needs a new Exhaust, should be next week when I take it in for that, need to decide on Mufflers to go with.

Best top Tiger top needs to go on.

Finish the revamp work on the Orginal stock seat brackets so I can put the new re covered stock seats back in.

Get the paint cleaned up, most likley sand it down and re paint it back the Indian Ceramic its been painted now. The orginal color was Presidential Red, but the past owner repainted the Jeepster Indian Ceramic inside and out as well as underneath. Not worth my time try to bring the color back stock.

Since more money went into the engine than I wanted, Looks like I will have to wait till early next year for suspension work, but Im also trying to decide If I should change the Tranny/Tcase. If I had it to do all over I would have done a 4.3 swap instead of rebuilding the 225. But now either find a TH400 for the auto, or look at other options, It does need to be auto though the wife wants to be able to take this on light trail rides and beach duty. Havent seen if you can do a 700R4 swap with a 300 on the 225.

Enough of the talk, here are some pics along the way.

Looks nice but the color looks more orange to me than Indian Ceramic?

It's more the light in these pics, but I agree based on the Indian Ceramic I have seen it appears to be darker.

Now the paint that was used was color matched, I have the mixed paint can labeled AMC Indian Ceramic (I don't think iit was available till 71?) But then I havent seen a paint chip to match it up yet. It was not Dupont paint. So lets just say...

Looks to be close to 'Indian Ceramic"

Hmm, did AMC have a color called Indian Ceramic that was different than Kaiser's?

Nice! My 72 was factory orange and yours looks just a shade darker. Sort of a burnt orange.

Heres a link to the 68 Paint codes, and from Data bases I have verified that it was in use until 70 at least, maybe on some early model 71's? who knows.

It's a very close match the the Indian Ceramic in the pic, but it is slighty darker not as dark as it looks in the pics I have posted for sure.
