Getting ready to pull the trigger on wheels and tires. Decided to go with the Rock Crawlers 15x10, with 33/12.5 Mud T/A. Not quite sure about the backspacing though. It has 31/10.5 now and everything clears with no problems. It has a few inches of lift, not sure exactly (New topic: How much lift do I have) as it was already lifted when I got it.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

The backspacing should be the same on most all aftermarket wheels. Something like 3-5/8".

If you've got a wider wheel the difference should all be to the outside.

I think the 15x10 AR767's are 3.75". I only slightly rub the springs at full lock...keep in mind this is with a D30 so my turning radius is sharper. The rears slightly rub the inner wheelhousing at full stuff. My tires are 33/12.50-15

That's kinda what worries me, that I might hit the front bumper at full lock, but like you said the D27 doesn't turn too sharp.

Joe - Do you have a lift? How much?

    Used lift, roughly 2.5-3".

  7. Pat: I have 15x10's chrome mods with 33x12.50 BFG MT's, a 2.5" lift with 1.5" shackles. I only hit the front springs at Full Lock. It's only slight and I see no reason to "crank out" the limit stops. It's VERY SLIGHT. I can stop it by just backing off full lock about 1/16 of a turn.

    I'm happy with it!

Thanks Jim. I was hoping you'd chime in. Your setup is about what I'm shooting for. I just gotta figure out how much lift I got on there. What exactly does a 1.5" shackle measure to? Is that 1.5" longer than stock?

Shackle lifts net you 1/2 the difference in length over stock - so a 2" longer shackle nets you a 1" lift.

Thanks Mike. So the number that you see is that much more longer than the stock shackle? How long's the stock shackle? I assume that's measured hole to hole?

  11. Pat: Yes, mine are 1.5" longer than stock--that net's me .75" lift. I'm really no fan of extended shackles, so someday I may go to a 0.5" shackle which would give me a 1/4" lift.

We'll see. But I'm not concerned with the interference now. NBFD! R)

P.S. If you want, I'll take a pic of my "Interference". Like I said, no big deal! :D

That would be great Jim. I'd really appreciate the pic.

  13. Pat: I'll take them tomorrow morning.

Well I lied: Here they are now. Note the Small amt of damage to the tire. This is with a ProComp 2.5" lift with 1.5" shackles.

1st pic= amt of "burnishing" on the spring wrap.

2nd pic= 1.5" shackles, you can also see the "polish" on the spring wrap.

3rd pic= "Damage" to the tire on the "Large" lug. No big deal.
