71 cj5 FUELTANKS

    I am picking up a 71 renegade ii with a dauntless 225 v6 and i was curious if they came from the factory with dual fuel tanks , one front and one rear ? Thanks

    Fuel tanks were moved to the rear of the vehicle somewhere mid-year in 1970 due to federal mandates.

    That did away with the underseat tank. However it is/was a common owner modification.
