Ordered brackets from Nothum over ebay, but they don't seem to be lining up the pump with the crank. The brackets that I have will line the pump pulley up to the water pump, but that is an incorrect installation- it has to be routed off the crank for best power etc. The crank currently has a two groove pulley. I will load pics soon. Wondering if anyone here that has power steering on their 225s would mind posting pics of the pulley and belt configurations. :v6: Thanks in advance!

Here's how far I have gotten- the pulley has not been installed yet. The twin horns are in the way, and I will have to relocate them, which is no big deal. What is a big deal, however, is that the only groove that seems to line up is the water pump, and I don't want to do that.

Before anyone references me to a prior thread, I have looked at EVERYTHING on this site, Pirate 4 x 4, the guy who has his own web page off Pirate's, the Jeepster forum, and the photo archives.

I just can't find a decent photo of what the routing and brackets should look like on a 225 Buick. Seller sold me the brackets, and they mount up to the engine, but it seems the pump is too far forward. ARRGH

did you look at my pics in the build section back in May/June?
although my brackets and pump are 231, it drives off the inner most groove in the crank pulley.
I think yours is an illusion without the pulley installed.
the pulley is offset quite a bit and comes in close to the face of the pump/resovoir.

    possibly
there are bound to be differences for the different applications...
I measured the distance from the end of the pump shaft to the center of the p/s pulley.
I noted that the end of the pulley is flush with the shaft.
    that distance is approx 1-3/4".
might give you something to go by.
    what does yours measure ?

A couple of months back I got these brackets and pump together from the local pick a part place for $26. I feel it was a good deal all though I'm not sure the pump works. It cam off a 78 Buick Skylark (Now I can't remember the model) with the 350 V8. What's a V8 but the V6 with two more cylinders off the back, right? R)

I need to re-route the fuel line it seems.

All bolted up. Well I left a bolt or two out because I'm taking it back off but I wanted to see the alignment.
The pulley does come way back in towards the pump, maybe yours will line up. Fuel line is in the way.

Another view. Looks like everything in the back clears.

jpflat2a, I was looking through your build thread and have a question: where did you find the new p/s bellcoupler? Edit - I found em.

    Grouperboy:
I have a couple of shots of the Sag p/s gear in there and it looks like the clearance between the fluid inlet and outlet and the grille is going to be very tight :(

if you take your time with the tubing bender and you have a lot of patience you can do it.
don't recall how many times I forgot to put the nut on before I bent the tubing

Now I kind of wish I had held onto an old leaky hose from a CJ7 I switched out a while back. They are similarly tight in space. The rubber hose section was leaking, but the steel tube ends were good. :(

I am in the same boat.
Its the offset pully that makes the diff.
my pully has a zero offset and it is right inbetween the crank and water pump pullys.
My mount is from a 350 buick.
I can see I just need that rear offset pully to line up.
