Flowmaster mufflers

    endless expense 45 Oldsmobile RTI Ramp!

    I want to install flowmaster mufflers on my 79 CJ-5 with a SBC and fenderwell headers.The question is what will fit,I would like to keep the 3" inlet and outlet.I have Purple Hornie glasspacks on it now and I just cannot take the excessive noise anymore!I know I have seen some people on here running them,I figure it is easier to ask than trial and error.

    This may not help much but I'm going through the same thoughts with my V6. I was going to order 40 series mufflers tommorrow and give that a shot. They are $69 at Summit right now.

    Thats kinda what I was thinking either 40 series or super 44 off-road,let me know how they fit.

    For what it's worth Flowmaster has a new series out. They are smaller than the others and sound great.
    Any flowmaster sounds good though. Body is all but bulletproof.
    The web site has/had some sound clips.

    sgtbookie Don't Panic!

    I went with a Flowmaster 40 Series on my 258, and I think it sounds great. It is bigger than the stock muffler. If you need some pics of it installed let me know and I'll crawl under this afternoon and take some.
