Gas Tank Gasket Sealer

    I am replacing leaking gaskets on '51 M38 tank. Should a permatex type sealer be used on both cork and rubber/neoprene gaskets? I also notice slight leaking moisture around several screw heads--any suggestions for sealing the srews--maybe lock-tite on the threads?

    I have had good luck so far with the "Permatex High Tack Gasket Sealant" Item #765-1221. It does not harden and will not dissolve in gasoline..............works good for sealant on threaded fittings too.

    Should work good for the sending unit gasket and screws.
