Cutting CJ-5 Fenders - Pics?

    So you started out with stock fenders and cut them down. I really like it. I have some old fenders I might play with to see if I can do that.

    yes,those are /were stock. I first mounted the L channel to the tub,then cut out all the spot welds from the inner fender to the outside metal.cut off the end of the fender so the whole back half is floating then bend tube to fit your cut on the top fender { i made a pattern first and played around with shape then cut both sides the same,} make sure the tube is long and trim it in. weld tube to L metal[ make sure hood is closed to get the gap right! don't ask!!!!!]then space the L metal back far enough to flush new body metal to tub then spot weld back in the inner to the new body side. I then fully welded the whole thing together. I can't tell you enough that it CHANGED the way it drives , no more taco feeling.the front is way stronger . my old fenders were BAD and that could be why it made such a difference.GOOD LUCK .
