I'm in the process of putting my 360 back in the frame (finally!) and I'm having some trouble. I know when I pulled it out, it just popped right out with no problems, but now I'm having trouble getting the mounts to line up. Is there some trick to this? I've tried having the motor mounts on the frame horns, on the block mounts, and on neither and trying to just wedge them in there. Maybe if I pull the frame horns off and attach those and the motor mounts to the block mounts and then drop it in? In case I'm screwing up any of my terminology, I added a pic.

I dunno, I guess I'm doing the best thing for the problem now: went inside, cleaned up, and opened a beer.

    Any ideas?

I'd just get in there with a pry bar, it looks to be pretty close.

If it came out, it' will go back in. Im guessing you replaced the motor mounts or at least parts of the mounts. I would check to make sure what you took out and what is going in matches. But I would assume if you are replacing the rubber it was old and crushed a bit. Over the years the wieght of the motor pulled the frame in a bit. Now that you are putting back in new mounts, you need to spread the frame slightly.

Crow bar and a buddy. It should fit.

Had the same problem going back in with mine. Called over a buddy and he was able to shove it just a little harder than I could and it finally went in.

Thanks. I guess I just needed a break and to try again. With a jack, a cable-puller, a 2x4 for a lever, a big prybar and lots of creativity, it finally went in.

I just put a 360 in my '75. I installed everything on on the engine including the frame mounts and left them loose. Lowered it into the frome and put the bolts in from the outside into the mounts and it worked great. You may want to have a lineup tool handy though.

I could have saved you a lot of trouble by just taking the motor off your hands R) congo rats though.
