    I PMed Trickpatrick and Tallyjeeper earlier, but I need to get on this asap....

    Tallyjeeper is bringing a buddy to buy my 67 commando, and I need to replace a spring missing on the front end so they can tow it back. The spring for the 67 was pirated over to my 70, but they had to add a lot of washers to make it work, as the 67 spring is 1.75 in width, and the 70 is 2 inch. Which springs work on the 70 commando as a replacement? Tallyjeepers friend says that an 85 toyota rear spring will work....what do you all think? I searched the forum and found a thread about the earlier jeepster widths, hence my mail to trickpatrick. Can I use a wagoneer or a cj spring? Next problem is trying to find one, which will be almost as hard to find as the "rare" 67-69 commando front spring. Sorry if this has been covered, but I didn't see it in my search of the forum. Thanks! :)

    I've been looking around to find a front spring for either the '67 or the '70. Not much luck so far. In all my running about on the inter-web I have found out that the rear spring out of the '75 K5 Blazer and the '85 Toyota pick-em-up are the correct lenght, but I don't know about the widht. Needless to say, these would probably work (with a little bit of work) as a replacement on the '67 so that he can tow it home. I would be reluctent to use them as a replacement on the '70 though.

    I don't know about Wagoneer springs, but I'm pretty sure that CJ springs are the wrong size. The front springs on the Commando should be 44 1/2" long on the front. Does anyone else have any ideas about a spring pack that would work. He's going to need to flat tow (maybe dolly) the Commando for ~350 miles.

    Anyone have a spare front spring pack for a Commando laying around that they are willing to part with?

    TIA!!:beer::beer:

    I thought I measured front CJ7 springs at 42", the same as the Jeepster, but the centre pin was 2" offset from the Jeepster.

    Thanks guys. If I manage to find an 85 toyota, how many years do I have to work with? From looking on the internet looks like 79-86?

    If you have a torch, you can blow a new center hole in a spring pretty easily. Been done before.
