Does it matter which brake line is connected to which port on the duel res. MC on my '71 CJ5? I'm replacing my MC and notied the old MC's ports were labeled "front" and "rear" but my lines were connected in reverse of how it was labeled. The new MC's ports are not labeled. Does it matter which way I put the lines back?

I wondered the same thing, Herms MC was front at the rear and rear at the front. And stamped that too. That's how the shop installed mine as well.

That's how my old MC was stamped but the lines were the other way around. My new MC is not stamped. The brakes seemed to work fine untill the MC went out. I'm thinking about switching the lines when I install the new MC.

If you are converting to disk brakes you need to run the front lines to back port and rear brakes to front port. My 71 before conversion was the other way around.

dont know about your particular set up buy yes it does make a difference, the mc may have a bigger bore for the front brakes, thus pushing more volume, this is even true with 4 wheel drum brakes, dont know about jeeps but others have a bigger wheel cylinder on the front, biger shoes etc, so yes it does make a difference
