    All,
    L head, stock bell, T90
When the shop pulled the assembly the TO fork droped into the bell. It's a pain in the neck to put back in, it took me an hour when I was assembling it first time, with the tranny out  But now everythings back in and I'm not gonna pull it again, ha.
How do I get it to go in, match on the nub there, and then get the cable attached, an easier way? If I had like 3 less fingers on each hand it would work, but I can't reach in there
    Thanks!

    Really long forceps?
Maybe go get some long needle nose?
Now, that little nub in there, does that have to come off until I cal slip the fork in there? Thanks Jim

you need to get the fork up to where you can handle it; between the fork opening and the top cover opening.
You then need to slip the arm in behind the collar ears; then over the pivot ball; it's been over 25 years for me dealing with an F4 fork, but the unpleasant memories are still there.

See that's where I get lost, my hands are too big to fit into that little access hole :frustrated:
So just work away at it until it slips in there?

once you get it up, you shouldn't need your whole hand in the hole.
    long fingers are helpful

Currently have gashes in the back of my hands from going through the same thing yesterday!:D

I used a long small diameter rod to push the throughout bearing forward enough to make it a bit easier to get the forks behind. The hard part for me was getting the pivot thingy lined up, after an hour, and about half my blood volume, It just slipped on.

Maintaining control is the key to this opperation. Once you have the fork in hand, tie a string to it so no matter what happens you will not have to fish it out again. I used dental floss.

Your hand will fit. There's more room to move around once you're in the bell. Relax your hand.

Your first "feel" of it being in the right spot (behind the TO), may well be wrong (it was for me). Use a mirror and flashlight.

I connected the cable as the first step. (on the F head) Theres a big collar that threads into the bell ... make sure that's unscrewed so you can wiggle the cable easier. You can re engage the cable if it slides out.

Ancilary thought: Hopefully you sprung for a good quality fork, unlike the PO of my Jeep who opted for a cheap imitation. If you do a search, you should find my thread from last winter where I had to replace mine because it blew out the pivot dimple on the elcheapo fork. :stout:

i do believe this was the topic of my first post 2 years ago ;)... Jpflat2a you helped me out as well.
Ahhh the memories... i can still feel the hand cramps from cramming my hand into that tiny bellhousing access hole .
Good luck Sammy, believe me when i say that it can be done. I'm a big dude with big hands and i still managed. Honestly, if you get frustrated, take a break, go work on something else for an hour and then go back to it. You'll get it :)
