Good morning. I just picked up my first CJ2A last week and just got it road worthy this morning. It's a 1946 CJ2A body, trans, T-case, and D18 on an M38 frame and suspension. PO swapped in the 225 and built the rear rack. He also changed out the steering box with one from a Vega and changed to power brakes from an '84 Subara GL wagon. I picked up for $1500 in non running condition. The PO said his kid somehow broke the mechanical oil pressure line and ran it dry all the way home. I tore it apart and found a couple bad rod bearings and the timing chain was completely shot.

$70 in bearings, a timing set, some intake gaskets, and a battery later I took it for a drive this morning and everything appears to be in working order except for the brakes. Through some troubleshooting it appears the master cylinder doesn't move enough volume of fluid to completely engage the brakes (pedal goes to the floor unless I pump it a few times). Replaced the master cylinder and re-bled all brakes, same problem, no leaks. Anyways I was looking at the YJ booster and master cylinder swap. Anyone have experience with that or currently running that set up in a flat fender? I found plenty of info on using the YJ parts in CJ5s but not much on flat fenders.

Here's some pictures I took this morning after giving it a much needed bath R)

Nice flatty, does it have swing pedals. Post a closeup of your MC brake setup. Check your shoe to drum clearance, might have too much clearance making you push the pedal all the way before the shoes contact the drum. I've never heard of your MC swap, but it sounds like a good setup.

Is there a residual-pressure valve installed after the MC? about 10lbs for drums and 2 lbs for discs. If there is no valve then you might have to double pumping the pedals.

btw.. Nice 2A. My first cj was a 47 2A. Your's is in much better shape than mine which was straight stock except for the 30 gallon drum the farmer strapped into the back seat for a fuel tank..... I changed that fast.
