I have finally got my 68/71 running and driving ok up and down the drive(the kids love it!) What I did notice is that with my th350 setup it doesn't seem to be shifting. I have the vacuum line hooked up but not the kick down cable. Could that affect the shifting of the tranny? I am still looking for a bracket for cable at the carb. I assume one off of a late 60's chevy pick-up would work? Any thoughts? :?

    Thanks

Did you adjust the vacuum shift module?
Should be a small screw inside where the vacuum line goes on. Turn it in/ out 1/4 turn at a time until you get it shifting like you like...

Is the screw in the module or is it behind the module?

Pull the vacuum line off the back of the module. It'll be inside...

must be a small screw. I didn't mess with it at all from the time I purchased it(used of course from a reputable source). When I first started it up and tried moving it the hold down bracket for the VM was non-existent(bolt broken off in the case-clip wear abouts unknown) and popped it out when the pressure got high enough. I dumped A LOT o tranny fluid that night. could that have chnaged anything?
