    Well, I'm posting another question....After alot of looking around I have come to find that the IAT-4405 distributor that I have was not put on cjs. I also have a not so common PCV setup. So my questions are: 1. Is there any way to find out what year/vehicle this engine belongs to?(F-head casting #4j321332)
    2. What vehicle should I look up for parts for my IAT distributor? I'm finding it almost impossible to find a cap and rotor under "cj-5".
    Any help would be great.....Thanks.

    from what I can decipher:

    IAT-4405 = Jeep # 923069

    using the Jeep number this would indicate early 475 series wagons and trucks-1955-1962, maybe earlier.

    the Jeep numbers are:
    118343 = dist cap
    923392 = rotor
    923391 = point set
    917128 = condenser
    119770 = vac advance

    Comparison of the parts side by side would be needed to verify this info. Sorry, no pictures in the books. Unfortunately, in the early years, they referred you to your nearest Autolite dealer for replacement parts for generators, starters, and distributors.

    as you can see here, the CJ distibutor, IAY-4401, shares some of the same internals if you look closely at the part numbers.
    that is, assuming your distributor looks anything like these.

    The distributor is at least similar. I will take a better look at the internals and see how they compare. (I know that Napa lists the IAT/IAY series caps and rotors as the same part number, but the rotor doesn't look like the one I have.)
    Although, the parts numbers being the same between the two diagrams makes me think that the IAY parts would work.
