Howdy all, I'm upgrading the brakes on the old 2A to 10 inch. Have a entire set of axles out of a 10 in braked CJ-5, and am swapping the drums/backing plates. Problem is everything was shot inside the brakes.

So does anyone have some parts they want to sell? Need shoes, wheel cylinders, adjusters and springs. I would go new, and will go new when I restore, but this project is on the cheap and 10" brake parts are more than 9" brake parts. So as long as the parts are usable, that's all I care about.

    Thanks!

Please use the classifieds for any WTB parts. Not the tech section.
    Thank you.

As John said, please use the wanted to buy section for part requests. On another note, I recently screwed up a 9" wheel cylinder (again ) and decided to install the 11" brakes that I've had around for awhile.

In doing so, I replaced the hardware, shoes and wheel cylinders and was presently surprised to find the parts available and relatively cheap at around $40 per axle.

I would not spend a lot of money on 10" brake hardware. The 11" parts are available now and probably still will be in a decade or two. 10" parts, maybe not. You can buy a bolt-on 11" setup with all new parts except for the backing plates for about $250/axle, or scrounge the 11" parts for less. The 11" Bendix brakes were used on a lot of vehicles, including the ubiquitous F-100. Plenty of sources and aftermarket support.

Well, I already have the major parts for 10 inch. The hurry just went out of this project anyways. Still going to try to find some stuff for when I do upgrade.

Just one of those things, started to bleed the brakes and snapped a bleeder screw(big surprise there!) and thought I'll just slap on those 10 inch brakes. Well that didn't work out, so I'm fixing the 9's for now.

    Thanks,
    Dennis
