Old Stock Carb Question

    i have a stock 2 barrel carb on my dauntless oddfire v6....the floats are sticking and giving me problems? rebuild? or does anyone have any sugestions for a decent aftermarket replacement that wont cost me 3-400$

    Your FLAPS or NAPA should be able to get a rebuild kit for the stock Rochester 2G carb. If I remember correctly some members here have also been able to find rebuilt carbs there as well, but the results were varied.

    what w3srl said, i would just put a kit in it if it were me, try to stay away from reman carbs,never know if you are going to get a good one, sometimes you get lucky and get a good one,most of the time you dont

    tried rebuilding mine twice, ended up having a local carb shop overhaul it.


    it is possibile to clean the float, but if you're in it that far, new ones are cheap.

    I had a reman. Nothing but trouble with it and never did get it replaced either.

    MUCH better luck rebuilding on my own, shoulda done it in the first place.
