    Hi all

I had some problem with the jeep lately. I sprayed the carb with carb cleaner, I opened up the choke plate (by rotating the dial) a little bit, and it seems ok. I started it and did not touch the gas or anything. Then I smoothly touch the gas pedal, it did drop in RPM, and I waited a little bit more before touching it again.

Now my warmed-up idle (not sure of the exact terminology in english) is arounf 500 rpm. I want to give it a little bit more, like 650 / 700 range. Where do I adjust that on a 1 bbl carter YJ carb ?

    Thanks

    Anyone ?

I did a search, maybe not with the exact terminology (english is my second language) and found nothing yet.

    Thanks for your help

Bob, there is a curb idle screw. The only screws you could confuse it with are the idle mixture screw or the fast idle cam screw.

The IMS goes straight into the base of the carburetor and has a knurled end.

The FICS bears against a stepped cam that gets pulled away from the screw as the choke plate opens.

The curb idle screw does nothing but open and close the throttle plate. It is on the throttle linkage and bears against the body of the carb.

I don't have a good picture of it - I looked in the manual, but it's probably so obvious that they don't need to point it out (sorry).

I'm not familliar with any cj carb but the 2100 BUT...
usually its as easy as adjusting the screw that acts as the "stop" for the throttle linkage.

Yes - idle stop screw is another name for curb idle screw.
