How much oil should i expect to pour out of the oil fiilter housing on the Lhead when i pull the rubber lines to repalce them? Just need to know to be prepared with more oil.

not sure but the crappy omix-ada rubber lines i got dried out and cracked within a year. There not leaking yet and its been 5 years but im thinking ill put my old ones back on when i get around to it because if they go its gonna spray oil everywhere being right behind the fan. and thats where its cracked the most

Well i found out no oil drips out, that was nice. The bad thing is the bottom line is not long enough to fit. :( I am a 1/2 inch to short, i have to talk to them tomorrow, I am mad right now. The current setup is a pipe thread to flare adapter on the bottom of the oil cannister and adapter in the timing cover. The line i got is pipe thread on one side and flare on the other so i am short now. :(

Skip the crappy Omix-Ada ones and get the stuff to build two braided stainless ones. You'll never have another issue with them again!

The usual places like Summit, Jeg's and the like will have the fittings and the hose. ;)

I got the mfrom the local Kaiserwillys.com place in Aiken. I will call them tomorrow. It had a part number on it and it doesnt seem to match the one in the picture. :(

Why not use steel line to connect the two, there shouldnt be a significant amount of flex there since it is on the motor. If it was external off the motor i would see why rubber was used.

I can't see why not Dan, the oil filter is mounted solidly to the engine...

I will hopefully be getting a new line tomorrow. I called the store today and the guy did aknowledge that for some reason he has had a few of those hoses made too short. So he is sending me out a new on for free, and it is a touch longer so it will work, and he measured it while on the phone :) Fortunately these lines are not Omix Ada lines, they seem to be locally made. So we will see tomorrow if i can drive the jeep :)
