    hi again,
i was talking with a guy and he told me the following.
re-torque is when you unbolt the bolts and torque again them with the sequence.
torque check is when you just check the torque after some miles on the bolts without unbolt them.
    :?:?:?:?:?:?
so,if he is right i have to unbolt the bolts in my f-head (not remove them)and retorque them again or just check for the correct torque after some miles with my new head gasket???

also he confused me about the thread sealant.and the permatex aviation.he told me this:

Permatex will collect out of the threads at the top of the block, and help hold your head away from your block, something you do NOT want is anything holding the head away from the block!
Permatex is WAY too thick when it stands up, and will effect your re-torque.Even if the Permatex doesn't lift the head off the block far enough to leak right away, it's still a 'Wedge' in between the head and deck!

please help me.i want to do it one last time.
i was order one tap to clean the block threads, one felpro gasket,i will wire brush the head bolts, check the head for warp and cracks
WHAT ELSE TO DO??use or no thread sealant?what type please?
permatex high temp thread sealant?or aviation?

    thanks
    George

Hmm, I like that brown stuff alot (aviation) because it use to be a GM recommended product (called GMS). Never dries, hardens seizes etc. Great for sealing -- however, for cylinder heads, I would just clean the threads with a tap and wire wheel the bolts. light coat of straight 30 motor oil. Anything else like teflon or super dooper nasa foo foo will alter your torque values -- likely over torque!

For re-torque, I never loosen. Just check in sequence
