I'm new to the forum and have a lot of experience with military Jeeps but I'm not as familiar with the CJ's. This 1963 CJ-5 is for sale locally and the owner says the paint and everything else is all original. The color scheme is pink and white. The interior is also the same color scheme, even the steering wheel and shifter knob is pink. Was this a special model or just optional color scheme? I know about the earlier Jeep 'Surry" 2 wheel drive that was also pink and white, anybody know?

I don't know but it sounds like my daughter's Barbie Jeep.

I just answered my own question when I looked at the rest of this website. It's an original Tuxedo Park Mark III . This thing came from California, spent 40 years in a garage and is basically rust free.

Could also be the "salmon" color that got real faded.

I tried to load pictures here but they are too big and I can't figure out how to re-size them. The Jeep also has the optional front PTO winch.

    Go to www.photobucket.com
    Free pic hosting website

To resize the ones you have before you upload them to Photobucket, if you have MS Office Picture editor, open the pic, select edit, select resize, select Web large (640 x 480), select OK, then save with a new name (if you still want to keep the big hi-res ones)
Then go to Photobucket and upload the new pics.

I'm from the West Point NY area! The guy is asking $4000.00 Engine was correctly rebuilt not too long ago. Also has low original miles. Making plans to go see it.

Yeah, the original color is more of a "salmon" than a pink. Could be faded, could be the light. Reds, oranges and yellows fade badly (maybe not so much today), but they can be brought back by buffing as long as the paint hasn't been buffed too thin.

Yep, but I'm way up in the northeast corner, next to the Fells. Been here for almost twenty years, though I grew up in the Los Angeles area.

Looks good! The outside appears to be faded but original The inside shows more of the true original color.
Looks like some extensive buffing could restore the exterior color to the more salmon shade.

Let us know if you go for this one... :)

I went to see it and bought it on the spot! It looks far better in person, the paint is not faded. It was always garaged, looks like new but is unrestored, original! The previous owner rebuilt the engine, brakes, clutch, etc. and it runs and drives like new. It has a 3 speed but gets up 55 easily, I wonder if it has overdrive? I have all the original paperwork including a document from the original owner stating the Jeep's history. Notice the original wheel well pads in the picture.
