It's looking like I may finally have the chance to replace my original stock springs (all flat, driver's rear bent) with some new ones. I want to keep it as close to stock as possible, really makes for more challenging fun on the trail. The most lift I would consider is to use the Rancho 1" lift kit. My shocks are good, I don't really don't want to replace them, or the brake hoses for that matter, either. Anybody tried the Rancho's? Can I keep the shocks and hoses with the 1" lift?

AFIK my other alternative is stock springs from JCW. They have both their brand, and Omnix. Omnix are a little more expensive, and my past experience with some of their parts hasn't been good, so I'm looking for feedback if anybody has used the JCW brand ones. They get good "reviews" on the JCW website, but we all know how that one goes...

I guess this is just a long way of asking what did you guys who stayed mostly stock use? I seem to remember someone saying a fella named Bob Suplee is the guy to order from, does he have a website?

Thanks Rocky, I'll give him a call.
Yes, this is a sneaky bump.
Nobody runs stock springs? Or is it that the different brands are all pretty much all the same?

When you say "stock", do you mean the 7 leaf front, 5 leaf rear 'standard' springs? I'd guess the factory heavy duty springs are more like the 1" or 2" lift springs sold today. I know that both my CJs with the factory HD suspension package sat noticeably higher than the Jeeps with the standard suspension.

If you'd like to keep the number of leaves the same, you could have some springs made in the configuration of the originals.

Yep, at present it has 7 & 5. JCW has them available new. You may have answered my question about the Rancho 1" lift springs, though. If the stock heavy duty were about 1" higher than the 7 & 5's, I should be good to go with my present shocks and brake hoses. I've read a few folks say the Ranchos ride a little softer than stock, I'll probably give them a shot. The old 3x broken back needs all the help it can get.

Regarding the JCW springs, the product may be ok, but it seems like everybody dislikes the vendor. Maybe these are supplied by Omix-Ada? if so, then they should be available through all the usual Jeep suppliers like Walcks, Turner, etc. I doubt that JCW sells much of anything that can't be sourced through regular retail channels.

Quadratec sells "stock" replacement springs too. $85/ea fronts and $95/ea rears. That comes out to $360/set if my math is correct. Not exactly cheap for no-lift springs. Probably the same manufacturer as other vendors.
