My backup lights don't work on my '71 cj5.

I've checked for broken/cut wires and haven't found any. I'm thinking it's probably the switch, so where can I get one (NAPA, O'Reilly, etc?) and how difficult is it to install? Would I just take the one piece out of the floorboard that covers the tranny and pop in a new switch?

    It's got a stock 4 banger and 3 speed.

    Please advise.

Take your shifter floor cover of, in my case the switch is right there, there are 2 terminals on the switch, with a multimeter or test light with the switch on check to make sure there is current to one of the terminals, If you have voltage to the switch place a jumper across the terminals, if the lights work your switch is bad, if not the problem is from the switch to the lights or the lights.

The switch is easy to find, but it may not be listed for your application. They are commonly broken.

A Standard NS-20 will probably work. Go here and enter the part number. http://www.standardbrand.com/web_app/catalog/smp_bgbulk.aspx

<edit> Heh. You'd think they could find an example for photography that wasn't corroded.
