Okay, I have a new rebuilt carb on my 80ish 360. It seems to rum well once warm but I have yet to get the chock working properly. I searched and have some more Q's about it.

The choke needs a ignition wire to it all the time, right? So the spring is going to be hot the whole time the engine is running. Right?

Why does it have a hot air tube from the manifold if it is electric?

My instructions with the carb do not have any info on choke set up. Where should I start? I put 12v ign. to it but unhooked it because it did not seem to close the choke.

    Thanks for any info.

Because it's not electric - it's thermoelectric. It needs hot air and electricity to open fully.

The hot air intake is in the carburetor air horn, and it goes through the choke stove in the manifold. Is the hot air plumbing complete and in place?

There should be instructions about setting the choke cover position (black dial thingy) and the fast idle cam. If the instructions don't include that, you can look at any 70s era FSM.

The tubes are there. So leave the ign. wire on it and find my manual for adjustments? I read somewhere that you need a switch to shut off the power once the motor is hot. Is that true?

Nope. Key is on, wire is hot.
