71 wiper motor

    I have a 71 cj5 with a three wire wiper motor. I found a replacement that is identical but is a four wire motor. I'm guessing that it is from a later 72 to 75 cj. My question is whats the fourth wire for and can it not be hooked up and still function off of a three wire switch.

    The forth wire may be for interval. The other three will be park, high, and low speeds. Don't see why it wouldn't work w/o the forth wire, however, I'd see about a switch that would accomodate the interval function. It would be a good upgrade.:v6:

    I don't have park on my 70. No big deal - you just have to turn off the switch when they're all the way to one side or the other.
