    sammy Coca-Cola?

    All
Got a new exhaust manifold in from Walcks today, and it seems that it the spring and counter balance are not attached, I tried to match it to my old manifold and everything but I can't get it together... It's hard to push together and hard to try to tighten the balance's clamp down. What would you think about this? Any tips?
    Thanks

Counter weight doesn't want to clam onto the little bar in there, and I'm not sure how to position the spring and the counter weight

    Sammy-

I went through this with my original manifold and OMIX-C**P parts that didn't fit. Try to visualize the mnifolf as it sits on the side of the engine, looking from the front of the Jeep back the shaft will rotate clockwise to close the heat riser and the counterweight tries to keep it closed though it's weight. As the manifold warms up, the coiled spring expands and works to turn the shaft counter-clockwise against the counterweight. Once up to operating temps the counterweight is held fast and the internal flap is wide open. Clear as mud?

I can try to take some pics of mine later this weekend, but I'm in the fire academy until late Sunday afternoon.

Thanks Steve. I have pictures of mine but i think I do kind of understand it. I may just bolt it to the engine and fallow your instructions. I have no idea how many spring wraps are supposed to be in there either... Thanks!
