Would 16" Willys pickup rims fit my '73 CJ5?

    Hey-

    The tires are marked as 7.50-16 off of a 1953 Willys pickup. Will they fit on a '73 CJ5 with a 2.5" lift and front disk brakes? Trying somewhat for the original look but am also would like the taller wheel/tire combo.

    Possible they won't fit over disk or 11" drum brakes. Wheel well clearance should be fine.

    I don't think OEM 15" wheels are hard to find... I've had bad luck with old wheels breaking. Wheels from any CJ up to '86 will be the same as the stock wheels for your Jeep. Later Jeeps will have a different pattern though (5 on 4.5" ?? IIRC)

    I thought the 16" wheels would clear disk brakes? They certainly cleared the 11" drums on my '62 that I put on it. The 16" wheels I gave Bill for Animal clear 11" drums as well, they were from a Willys Truck. I don't think it's an issue.

    My 16' cj rims wouldn't clear my dana 30 swap? are the pickup 16" rims different? I have a set on my fc170 but they look the same as the cj 16" rims.

    i changed a 69 commando to front disk brakes from a 1977 cj. tried to put 16 inch rims from my jeep truck on and they would not clear the caliper.
