Sometimes I do things and they are ok and sometimes I surprise myself and they turn out pretty cool. Thought I would share some good times.

This is duplicolor alpine green. The decal came from the link on this site.

Thanks for all your help and to Sparky who helped me squeeze the photo down.

The block and intake are going to get a good cleaning but not paint. This all started because there was a piece of bailing wire wrapped around the alternator bracket from the previous owner. I took the wire off and discovered it was holding the alternator bracket in place. Got a new alternator bracket and discovered during removal that the bearing was noisey. I took it to a rebuilder and then did some searching here and figured out I have a non stock 1 wire alternator and HEI distributor. The wiring looked a bit rotten and there was a few non factory wires that were paralleling the wiring harness. I have rewired everything under the hood and from the rear axle back. I also removed all the inline fuses under the dash and installed two fuse panels. One is always hot and the other is switched. My fuel gauge now works along with the signal indicators and hi beam indicator. That makes it all worth the effort.

I also decided that I would change the thermostat. Then I discovered the thermostat housing was almost corroded through under the upper radiator hose. So I picked one of those up at NAPA. Then in checking the fan I felt a slight bit of wobble in the water pump. Sooo I am changing that as well.

Is there a factory original color on the water pump? It appears that the pulley and fan were original black.
