T-90 to dana 20 2.5 to T-90

    I searched and I read Novaks site but I am still unclear.Whats the best way to adapt the Jeep 2.5 to a T-90 ? Whats the best way to adapt a T-90 to a dana 20 ? And by best I mean on a budget :)

    Mmm... the Novak site has a chart of bull (output) gears for the D18 & D20. Pick the Jeep PN with the right tooth count, bevel angle, and splines, buy one and bolt it on.

    The 2.5L is the same pattern as the 60 degree Chevy V6s (like in the early XJ). There's an article on Jeeptech.com about adapting the 2.5L to a SM420 (465?). Use an S-10 bell and the GM adapter to a T-90 ... that should work. The S-10 bell will bolt up to a SM420, so it should bolt up to the GM-adapted T-90 too. The GM-to-T-90 adapters come up pretty often on the used market - watch the forums (esp. Willystech) and ebay.

    Could I use the output gear out of my D18 ?

    I think the D20 doesn't have the rear bearing support for the T90, unlike the D18... Or at least mine is that way.

    Ooh. Good point. IIRC you need the T-86 rear bearing retainer (or whatever it's called) to mount a big-hole case (D20) too.
