I'm in the process of a front and rear 11" brake swap on my '66 in addition to a new dual master from "Herm". There was no Proportioning Valve in the original brake system and after searching thru this site's article archive I am still unsure whether I should install one or not. Opinions and recomendations would be most welcome. Thanks all.

if the swap you did is drums all around you won't need a proportioning valve, if it's drum/disc you will....least wise that's how I understand it.

Bore and stroke of the two circuits in the dual master. Bore and stroke of all the wheel cylinders. Foot pedal travel. Condition of all components. Tire size, speed, and loading of the Jeep.

There are so many variables it's pretty hard to say that you will or won't need one. Many people have done it without one and many people put it in.

I went ahead and installed an adjustable proportioning valve on mine when I went to front discs. It was cheap and easy. I would either put one in or check out where to get one and where to install it so you're ready if it turns out you want it later.
