    Hello,

I got one of the newer style aluminum intakes that have the electric heater and the coolant system. I am planning on using it to replace the original cast iron single barrel intake. see: http://lh4.google.com/BrentHostetler/R1w0fN2TzQI/AAAAAAAAADA/1-w1lDVa44s/DSC00560.JPG?imgmax=512

I understand you need to replace the intake/exhaust as a set. Since I have headers this should not be an issue right?

Anyone done this switch and what should I expect. Do I need a gasket set for my year intake or do I get one for a newer style..

    Thanks

    Brent

I replaced my old 1bbl intake with with a Clifford intake and I had headers already too. it worked fine. I had to use bolts & washers on a couple of the tabs. So as long as you have headers alraeady you should be fine.

Headers should work fine. You won't have the EGR gas connection.

I've done this swap on my truck. Get the gasket that matches the manifold (though the earlier gasket can be used if trimmed a little).

I've posted on this swap many times before. If you search for "aluminum intake" and "timgr" at the same time, you'll find most of the threads.

    hth!
