I'm a new owner of an old '68 and first post to this board. I've learned a bunch from this board and the Jeepster club board! My dad bought it for $400 about 7 years ago. He did a bit of work on it then it sat in a field for the last 4 years. I finally talked him into selling it to me this last christmas. It's a total rust bucket but I'm having a great time with it. I'm not planning on restoring it but just letting it be what it is - a fun old jeep where it's flaws are part of it's character. It's a vehicle that I can work on when I want and I can take my time tearing it apart - the wife is cool if it stays in pieces in the garage! It's been a great learning experience so far and I'm sure I'll have questions in the future. Anyways, Just thought I'd speak up and say thanks to all of the members for providing such good information!

Thanks for the responses guys - I really don't have any mods planned right now - it pretty much at the level I want it. It's just a matter of doing small things - like getting the turn signals to work properly, re-doing the brakes so the thing actually stops without having to pump the pedal, just basic maintenance stuff! I'll definitely post when I have questions!
