3B seat frames

I'm bringing home a Cj3b this weekend that has some butchered up seat frames (PO cut off back support to install mustang seats)

My question is are the CJ2, Cj3a, Cj3b seat frame similar. I've been to the 3b website and they look somewhat similar, but will they work for my 3B? Looking to go back to orig seats.

What year is it? At some point they went from floor mounted frames to the ones where the outside sides mount on the door opening. You could probably use 2A style for the older and 5 style for the later.

 

i have a 53 cj-3b and you can buy M38 front seats which are the same. not m38a1 but m38. beachwood canvas is a good source.

 

Mine is a '53 and whats left os the frames are bolted to the floor in front of the tank.

I bought a set of seats from an outfit I found on the internet. I'll look them up and report back.

I found one on ebay. So I'm up and running.

 

the cj2a, cj3a and cj3b are slightly different seats! the cj3b seats also have two different styles. the early seats bolt to the floorboards and the later seats bolt like early cj5 seats! you want to get the right year seats or they wont fit as nice! there is a shop in the bay area that has reproductions i believe. i will try to remember the name and get back to ya! good luck on the e-bay bids. you should be able to pick up a seat for 20-60 dollars (at least thats what they where going for when i pick some up a few years ago).
